Itinerary
Arrive in Moshi, Tanzania, and transfer to your accommodation.
Briefing and equipment check with your trekking guide.
Drive to Machame Gate for registration.
Trek through the rainforest to Machame Camp (3,010m/9,875ft).
Ascend through the heath and moorland zones to Shira Camp (3,845m/12,615ft).
Marvel at stunning views of the Shira Plateau and Mount Meru.
Hike across the Shira Plateau, passing Lava Tower, to Barranco Camp (3,960m/12,995ft).
Acclimatization day with stunning views of the Western Breach.
Traverse the Barranco Wall and head to Karanga Camp (3,995m/13,107ft).
Enjoy breathtaking views of the glaciers on the southern circuit.
Trek through the alpine desert to Barafu Camp (4,673m/15,331ft).
Prepare for the summit push and rest before the challenging ascent.
Summit night! Ascend to Uhuru Peak (5,895m/19,341ft) at midnight.
Descend to Mweka Camp (3,110m/10,203ft) for overnight rest.
Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate (1,640m/5,381ft).
Receive your summit certificates and transfer to your accommodation.
