Kilimanjaro, and the park offers sightings of various wildlife including elephants, buffaloes, lions, cheetahs, wildebeests, hyenas, jackals, warthogs, zebras, and Maasai giraffes.
Spend the day exploring Amboseli National Park. The park features a unique ecosystem with swamplands created by the melting snow from Mt. Kilimanjaro. This results in a green belt amidst the dusty plains, attracting diverse wildlife. Look out for elephants, buffaloes, lions, cheetahs, wildebeests, hyenas, jackals, warthogs, zebras, and Maasai giraffes during your game drives.
After breakfast, depart for Tsavo West National Park. Visit the Chyulu Hills and the Mzima Springs, where you can observe hippos and crocodiles from an underwater observation chamber if time allows. Set up camp for dinner and overnight. Tsavo West is the largest national park in Kenya, covering a vast area of 22,000 sq km. The park showcases diverse landscapes, including swamps, natural springs, rocky peaks, extinct volcanic cones, and rolling plains. Keep an eye out for elands, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests against the backdrop of the magnificent Chyulu Hills.
Explore Tsavo West National Park further, including its nature trails. The park is known for its abundant birdlife, featuring species like the white-bellied go-away bird, red-beaked hornbills, and bateleur eagles. You can also spot large populations of elephants, zebras, and leopards. Observe dung beetles rolling elephant dung along the tracks, showcasing the park's unique ecology.
Embark on an early morning drive to Tsavo East National Park. This park is renowned for its red-dust-covered elephants and picturesque landscapes. Visit Lugard Falls, Mudanda Rocks (a popular attraction for elephants during the drier season), and Aruba Dam while enjoying game viewing opportunities if time permits. Tsavo East features a flatter and drier landscape, with the Galana River attracting abundant wildlife such as crocodiles, hippos, kudus, waterbucks, and dik-diks along its banks.
